Designed for people involved in food preparation, this course provides basic hygiene principles for all food handlers.   Learn about correct storage temperatures, dealing with 'danger' foods, personal hygiene, cleaning food preparation areas and pest control.   This course is accredited as Follow Workplace Hygiene Procedures (SITXOHS002A).

This unit is a pre-requisite for Food Safety Supervisor training and accreditation.

Hygiene for Food Safety Supervisors - Hospitality Sector

Cost: $149.00

Every food business is required to have a food safety supervisor. This intensive one-day course includes visits to food operations sites as part of the assessment and provides supervisors in hospitality businesses with the required certification,   Implement Food Safety Procedure (SITXFSA001A), for the role of Food Safety Supervisor.

Please note: Follow Workplace Hygiene Procedures (SITXOHS002A) or equivalent is a compulsory prerequisite for this course. Copy of certificate/s containing the code SITXOHS002A are required as proof of previous training. Certificates without this code are not acceptable.

A credit for hygiene training undertaken prior to 2001 may be available following an assessment of your hygiene knowledge and skills.

Bridging Course

WA06025
Cost: $90

The bridging course is for holders of the current hospitality units THHGHS01B & THHBCC11B.  This bridging course will address the skill and knowledge gap between the Hospitality and Health and Community Services sector units of competency.

Upon successful completion of the bridging course you will be issued with a statement of attainment that meets the requirements of the H & CS sector as a food safety supervisor.  A copy of the current certificate containing the units HLTFS7A, HLTFS10A and HLTFS9A is required as proof of previous training at the time of booking.

This will enable you to be the nominated food safety supervisor in the health and community services sector including child care centre, aged care, hospitals, meals on wheels.
