Who can undertake a Skills Recognition Audit?

All applicants who undertake a Skills Recognition Audit (SRA) are expected to have relevant and sufficient experience and knowledge in the hospitality industry, appropriate to the level of qualification they are seeking.

Applicants who believe that they have the skills and knowledge identified in the outcomes of a unit of competency, are encouraged to apply for the SRA process.

To assist in identifying individual eligibility for the SRA process, the following self-assessment tools have been provided on this website:

•  Skills and work experience self-assessment questionnaire

These self-assessment tool helps applicants to identify previous and current experience within the hospitality industry.   These questions refer to job role and skills, qualifications and relevant training completed, number of years worked in the industry.

•  Unit of competency self-assessment questionnaire

These self-assessment questions encourage applicants to think about the competency requirements of individual units.   Applicants go through a process of self-assessment to determine whether they believe they fit into one of three categories:

•  those who believe on reflection that they need further significant learning opportunities to achieve current competence

•  those who believe they require some gap training to achieve current competence

•  those who believe they have current competence in the nominated areas and have appropriate evidence to support their claim.
